Trust Drum Circles is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building community, healing, and connection through rhythm. We offer inclusive, interactive drumming experiences that bring people together across age, background, and ability from schools and senior centers to wellness events and corporate gatherings.
Position Overview:
Trust Drum Circles is seeking a Research & Program Development Intern to play a key role in expanding our program network throughout Northeast Ohio and across the state, county by county. This position is critical to identifying new partnership opportunities, supporting strategic growth, and strengthening community connections through the universal language of rhythm.
While the role is primarily focused on research, data collection, and program development, it also offers valuable hands-on experience by allowing the intern to actively participate in community events, workshops, and programming whenever possible. This blend of behind-the-scenes work and direct engagement provides a well-rounded perspective on nonprofit operations and community-building efforts.
The ideal candidate will be data-driven and highly organized, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage and analyze information effectively. They should be proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a passionate team.
Above all, the intern should be enthusiastic about community engagement and believe in the transformative power of music and rhythm to foster connection, healing, and trust across diverse groups of people. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to identify potential partners across Ohio, including:
- Schools, community centers, festivals, nonprofits, businesses, and corporate event planners
- Organize detailed spreadsheets of outreach contacts, locations, and partnership opportunities
- Assist in developing outreach strategies to build relationships with partners
- Support event planning logistics and documentation
- Participate in occasional drumming programs or events, as interest and availability allow
- Compile data on current and potential event locations and help visualize network growth
- Contribute to strategy for statewide expansion by tracking opportunities by county
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Business Admin / Management, Educational Leadership, Nonprofit Management, Marketing / Communications, Arts Admin / Arts Management or related program
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in research, data collection, and organizing information into spreadsheets or databases
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and planning skills
- Comfortable with tools such as Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets), Excel, or CRM software
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and managing time effectively
- Interest in nonprofit work and/or music, community wellness, or the arts
