Production Personnel Intern

KUAM offers a students an exciting environment where projects have a real impact on audience. From working with social media to press releases, students will leave with a diverse portfolio that showcases their skills to future employers. Lastly, interns will receive guidance and feedback from seasoned professionals and mentors who are invested in growth. 

As an intern, you will be provided with the ultimate hands-on experience to gain practical knowledge of our operation and industry. Production Personnel intern duties and responsibilities include:

  • Photography / Videography of news stories and commercial content for web, social and broadcast as necessary. 
  • Summaries based on press releases or original story ideas. 
  • Editing and adapting stories for TV, web and social media from reporters and sports director’s copywriting for broadcast.  
  • Creation of News Social Media Video Content / Graphics utilizing KUAM News templates as directed by supervisor using company brand guidelines and news templates on file in Premiere Pro or Canva to create video and/or graphic posts.

This can be counted for course credit hours for senior level internship classes with professor's approval. 

We are Looking For: 

  • At least 1 intern
  • Students interested in the field of Journalism, Communications, Video Production 
  • Students who are adaptable and pay attention to Detail for polishing content, proofreading materials, and ensuring brand consistency. 
  • Handling shifting priorities, last-minute edits, and learning new tools or platforms quickly.
  • Editing software, and photo/videography experience preferred

Time Commitments: 

  • Total Days and cumulative hours are flexible to your schedule but we ask that you complete 24-40 hours /week for the ideal internship experience.
  • Operational hours for our news team are 9:30am -6:30pm M-F (again, we are flexible to your schedule).
  • There may be opportunities or events that transpire outside of these hours and interns are invited to assist on these special events/productions as well.
