Position Type: Federal Work Study Only
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Help with the set up, operation, and tear-down of events and activities put on by the Student Life Office.
- Keep clean and organized the space which you are responsible for, including the Student Life Office, the Lower Level Common Area, and the Student Union Conference Rooms.
- Help with promotion and coordination in the run-up to key events put on by the Student Life Office.
- Attend to the front desk at the Student Life Office and help create a welcoming presence in the lower lever Student Life areas for students, faculty, and guests.
- Answer phones, respond to emails, and learn on the job how to direct people to the correct resources on campus.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- A genuine sense of responsibility and a desire to fulfill your role to the best of your ability.
- A willingness to grow as a person and an understanding that your colleagues in the office are equally committed to helping you grow.
- An ability to learn by doing and to call upon your own creativity and imagination to navigate tasks on your own.
- A desire to take the lead on projects, even when you aren't 100% sure beforehand how you'll navigate each step of the process.
- The ability to listen well and ask questions when you don't understand something.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Photography and videography skills.
- Basic design skills on applications such as Canva and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to help move and set up medium-weight items such as tables, chairs, game equipment, etc.
Anticipated Schedule:
- Mon-Fri 5-10 PM, Sat-Sun 12-8 PM.
