Student Website Coordinator
The purpose of this position is to assist the Website Coordinator (Prof. Sit) and the Department Action Team (DAT) with revamping the EaES website. Responsibilities will include adding media content and revising existing text to make the website more user-friendly and visually engaging.
Job Responsibilities:
- Meet with DAT members and Prof. Sit to discuss website changes (meeting frequency TBD)
- Plan, coordinate, and capture photos and images of the department, including students, faculty, facilities, and its amenities
- Planning and capturing videos for virtual tours of the department, including EaES classrooms, lounges, and directions for how to get there
- Planning and conducting interviews with current students, alumni, and faculty
- Organize, caption, and upload photos and videos to the website to enhance visual impact and accessibility
- Develop new text descriptions for media content and sub-webpages
- Revise existing text descriptions across webpages and media
Job Skills/Requirements
- Current resume with any previous work experience related to this position
- Familiarity with content creation, including photo and video equipment
- Familiarity and/or desire to learn about website management
- Working knowledge of photo and/or video editing software (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud, iMovie)
- Work independently for 5-10 hours per week, starting in August 2025 and continuing through the Fall semester
- Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student in Earth and Environmental Sciences
