Position Summary
We’re looking for a recent MBA graduate or early-career professional with exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills to work directly with the Assistant Vice President of Regulatory, Communications, and Customer Experience. This high-visibility role offers exposure to complex regulatory strategy, utility economics, and business operations across multiple states. The right candidate will be curious, resourceful, and have a strong desire to grow.
The Regulatory & Strategic Analyst will take ownership of high-impact research, analysis, and process improvement projects that support regulatory filings, acquisition integration, and operational strategy. This is a role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, takes initiative, and learns new subject matter quickly — with a focus on building repeatable systems and improving efficiency across the business.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collecting, interpreting, and effectively communicating information on all aspects of water/wastewater utility operations.
- Analyze and interpret large datasets, including billing determinants, customer counts, and operational performance metrics, to provide actionable insights.
- Prepare background research, data analysis, and draft outlines for regulatory filings, testimony, and settlement negotiations.
- Build strong internal relationships and begin cultivating external relationships with regulators and technical staff.
- Collaborate across Customer Experience, Communications, Engineering, Finance, Operations, and Regulatory teams to drive integrated solutions.
- Take ownership of acquisition and rate case condition tracking to ensure commitments are met on time and documented clearly.
- Coordinating responses to regulatory information requests to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Monitor updates and changes in regulatory requirements and prepare acquisition cases across multiple operating units with varying requirements.
- Tracking and projecting key milestones across multiple operating units
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders (internal and external) to provide necessary information.
- Documenting processes to ensure repeatability and accountability.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in business processes.
- Ensuring stakeholder views are managed towards the best possible solutions.

Education/Skills
- Analyst or Project Coordinator experience preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Analyst, or related field MBA is a PLUS
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook
