Veggie Vouchers is a nutrition incentive program that partners with area clinics, non-profit organizations, and farmers markets to help food-insecure families access fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables.
The Student Data Analyst plays a key role in evaluating VV’s impact by reviewing and analyzing this summer’s data, including client surveys and voucher redemption statistics. This analysis is essential for communicating to partners, stakeholders, and funders.
By uncovering meaningful insights and trends within the data, the student will directly contribute to securing future funding and improving program effectiveness. Their work will help tell the story of VV’s success and guide strategic decisions for continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and summarize voucher distribution and redemption statistics.
- Analyze client survey responses to identify trends and statistical significance.
- Develop a final report and presentation for stakeholders.
- Additional opportunities, as the student’s schedule allows, may include meetings with the UNI Local Food Team, host sites and farmers, visiting markets, and presenting findings to funders.
Skills & Learning Opportunities
- Currently enrolled in a college program with some experience in data analysis, such as Data Science, Statistics, Public Health, Sociology, or related.
- Experience with Excel, Qualtrics, and some statistically analysis.
