This position supports the successful implementation of enrichment programming for City Garden students in grades PreK–8th grade. Each Friday from 12:45–3:45 PM, student assistants will work with school staff to help facilitate high-quality, hands-on learning experiences for students including STEM, karate, art, sports, and much! This role contributes to a vibrant learning environment while promoting student engagement, safety, and creativity.
Responsibilities:
- Assist staff members with setting up and organizing enrichment stations
- Support students during activities by offering guidance, encouragement, and supervision
- Help maintain an orderly and safe learning space
- Aid in the cleanup and reset of materials after sessions
- Engage positively with students across age groups
- Communicate with staff members to ensure smooth transitions between activities
Qualifications:
- Must be a current college student eligible for work study
- Interest in education, youth development, or related fields
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with staff
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- Willingness to work with children of varying ages and backgrounds
- Experience working with children in school or community settings
- Familiarity with enrichment topics such as arts, STEM, movement, or outdoor play
- Coursework or major in Education, Child Development, or a related field
- Creative problem-solving and flexibility in dynamic environments
