Recruiter Job Description
This role has the primary responsibility to establish high-level quality relationships with colleges and universities in the Kansas area. The recruiter will focus on promoting the Northwestern Mutual career, internship, and brand by building relationships with educational institutions, generating referrals, and developing centers of influence (COIs). They will play a key role in creating and executing the recruiting plan to reach activity and contract goals. Creativity, exceptional communication skills, and drive to achieve are critical in this role.
Primary Responsibilities
Sourcing:
- Build and develop effective referral sources with advisors/staff, develop productive centers of influence (COIs), and generate qualified lead strategies from referrals, COIs, advertising, career fairs, and campus contacts.
- Engage with universities, attend career fairs, and host career days to connect with students and recent graduates.
- Create and execute a district network office recruiting plan to meet activity and contract goals.
- Actively participate in community clubs and organizations to promote and brand Northwestern Mutual.
Selection:
- Be knowledgeable about all aspects of the Financial Representative internship/career and each step of the selection process.
- Screen candidates, conduct initial interviews, administer selection tools, and guide candidates through the process.
- Maintain integrity and consistency of the selection process.
- Effectively communicate with candidates.
Leadership:
- Partner with leadership to develop specific recruiting strategies and activities necessary to reach goals.
- Participate in company and industry training programs to improve recruiting and selection skills.
- Create and execute professional development plans with leadership input and guidance.
Accountability, Tracking, and Analysis:
- Analyze recruiting ratios to identify inefficiencies in the process and implement improvements.
- Utilize supported software to maintain candidate databases and ensure efficiency.
- Prepare activity and results reports for leadership meetings and coordinate regular reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport and influence others.
- Ability to generate leads via phone and in-person interactions.
- Strong personal network and/or community involvement
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with local universities; existing or recent university relationships strongly preferred.
