Temporary Public Law Librarian

Full-Time Temporary Public Law Librarian

Riverside/Indio/Temecula, CA

September 16, 2025 - February 16, 2026

The temporary User Experience Librarian will work full-time, 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, from September 16, 2025 through February 16, 2026. This position involves providing legal reference services to the public in person, by phone, email, and online, using both print and electronic resources. The UX Law Librarian will help patrons navigate legal materials, explain library policies and procedures, and enforce library rules as needed. Responsibilities also include supporting daily operations such as opening and closing the library, checking out materials, planning and promoting public programs, participating in community outreach, and contributing content for the library’s website and social media. Additional duties include tracking usage statistics, assisting with staff training, and helping to improve the overall user experience. This role also involves supervising interns or volunteers and participating in weekly online chat support.

Required:

  • ALA-accredited Master’s Degree in Library/Information Science and/or JD
  • Two to three years of highly responsible or professional-level library work experience, preferably in a law library
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
