Scientist Intern

Position Type (PT/FT): Intern, Full or Part Time 

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Location: Las Cruces, NM 

Reports to: Director of R&D

Palladium Dx are experts in the development and manufacture of medical point-of-care diagnostic products. We are currently going through a new and exciting stage of global expansion and we are looking for self-motivated experts who are keen to join us on this journey and make a real difference.

As part of our expansion we are looking for an Intern Scientist who has 1 year or less work experience working in lateral-flow assay development to support our ongoing growth.

The successful candidate will be involved in the R&D of products from feasibility to clinical trials, transfer to manufacturing, and laboratory bench work. You will be supported through this process by Senior Scientists who can mentor and develop your skills at each stage of the product lifecycle.  

· Assay development of Point-Of-Care diagnostics

· Analysis of data generated through in-house development

· Characterization of samples and novel detection assays

· R & D of various biomarkers, antibody & antigen reagents, formulations and processes

· Designing and conducting robust and efficient experiments

· Solving technical issues

The successful candidate must have:

· Laboratory skill area a must.  Such as: pipetting, analytical weighing, following GLP

· BS or working towards a degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, bioengineering or related field

· Experience with membrane-based assays such as Lateral-Flow Immunoassays is a plus

· Ideally knowledge of QSR's and ISO 9001/13485

Laboratory skills including:

· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

· Protein purification

· Antibody conjugation

· Solution prep

· Assay development
