Medical Records Supervisor

THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

 

This position incorporates technical and supervisory work where you will oversee the operation of the medical records department, including the medical histories of all patients. Your full range of supervisory duties include managing and reviewing work assignments to ensure timely and accurate completion. Duties include establishing work goals for the unit and providing training and support to staff. In this role, you will code special therapies, program services, and treatments with the diagnostic related group assignment. You will also detect and resolve problems and consult with a supervisor to resolve any urgent, sensitive, or unique issues.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes). However, a higher salary may be established in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires the possession of a valid Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certificate or a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certificate issued by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), or eligibility for certification including completion of an AHIMA approved RHIT or RHIA Health Information Management education program.


 

Post Employment Requirement:

  • Employees who meet the Necessary Special Requirement based on the eligibility option for the RHIT or RHIA certification must obtain one of these certifications within 12 months of employment.


 

Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
