Western Nebraska Pioneers Field Maintenance Intern, 2026 season: 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Field Maintenance intern will focus on the following responsibilities: 

Responsibilities will include: 

• Assisting full-time staff with management of:
  • Preparing Oregon Trail Park Stadium playing surface for play each game day and off-days as needed;
  • Work with staff on equipment and supplies needed to perform duties;
  • Understand work ethic and cooperative efforts needed for high-level operation of a professional-level baseball field;
  • Responsible for informing staff of weather changes, field issues and daily efforts needed by all to assure playing field is ready for each game.

This position will work closely with, and will report directly to, the General Manager.

Other duties as needed to assure success of the Pioneers and the season program. 

HOURLY REQUIREMENTS AND COMPENSATION

This position receives a stipend of $500 per month. Schedules will be constructed to use required internship hours throughout the 10-week summer season. The team will provide cost-free housing through host families. The team will coordinate this housing with you as the season approaches.

Intern is responsible for transportation to and from Gering, Nebraska. Start date is approximately May 20, 2026 and end date is approximately August 15, 2026.
