Job Description
Microvast is seeking a talented Corporate Paralegal to join our Legal Team. This role will directly support Microvast's Legal Team. In your role as Corporate Paralegal, you shall devote substantially all of your business time and effort to the performance of your duties hereunder. You will be assigned such duties and responsibilities as are reasonably consistent with your position, including but not limited to the following:
. The position will report directly to the General Counsel.
- Support internal and external litigation counsel in all stages of litigation, both administrative and substantive
- Assist with the factual development and analysis of cases, including communication with relevant business partners
- Management of each matter's discovery process, including the collection, retention, and production of documents, drafting written responses to discovery, as well as setup and maintaining document review platforms
- Draft legal documents, including settlement agreements, document retention notices, pleadings, and response letters
- Draft meeting minutes
- Support with preparation of board meeting agendas and finalizing presentations
- Caseload file maintenance and organizing files electronically
- Electronic form letters template preparation and review
- Processing time and expense reports
- Track law firm spent by case
- Manage potential insurance claims and open claims
- Track insurance renewals and work to obtain information from business to complete insurance renewals
- Provide day-to-day calendar management and handle meeting logistics for general counsel in the Legal Department
- Draft correspondence, presentations, and other documents
- Manage emails and filing, as needed
- Coordinate visa applications or visa renewals with immigration firm
- Research, prioritize and follow up on legal development meetings and project and help prioritize incoming issues / concerns
- Assist with document review
- Assist with corporate subsidiary document preparation and signature requests.
- Coordinate requests for third party due diligence for legal department vendors
- Coordinating with accounting on processing of settlement payments
- Regularly communicate and interact with cross-functional Microvast teams, particularly with respect to fact-gathering and document/data collection
- Maintain positive relationships with internal & external business partners and vendors
- Maintain confidentiality with respect to sensitive information and projects
- Support with functions related to tracking of equity award tracking on equity plan
Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Company and your Supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience managing litigation matters
- Bachelor's Degree and paralegal certification required or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
- Law firm experience required, in-house experience a plus
- Understanding of litigation cadence from motion practice to discovery, arbitration, and trial, as well as appellate procedures
- Strong organizational, analytical, fact-finding, and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of matters, to work efficiently and proactively, to take initiative, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and oversee multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment
- Support regulatory filings and government correspondence
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with ability to work independently
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with executive-level presence
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and relation-building skills
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Adaptability and initiative in anticipating needs and providing proactive support
