Funktasy is a global entertainment company with a record label, magazine, academy, and strong social platforms. Since 2021, 160+ interns from top universities have graduated our music, media, and marketing programs.

Funktasy Records is a multi-genre Record Label with a focus on Dance, EDM, House, Urban, Hip Hop, R&B, and Pop. With a global market reach, the Label boasts a sought-after domestic and international roster.

Funktasy Magazine is an online original content outlet and publication dedicated to music and entertainment. The magazine covers interviews with various artists and industry experts, music gear reviews and updates, music business and technology news, fashion, entertainment and popular culture.

About You

• You are passionate about writing & journalism.
• You are interested in the world of music & fashion.
• You have a keen interest to write for magazines and digital media.
• You have part-time (min. 8 hours/week) or full-time (flexible hours) available for a minimum internship of 4 months.
• You have a great eye for detail and possess a up-to-date knowledge of current events, including but not limited to fashion, beauty and pop-culture trends.
• You are passionate about the latest trends in the music industry as well as the fashion industry but are still eager to learn more about the day-to-day process behind it all.
• You are a team player, creative thinker and a great communicator.
• You must have strong computer skills.
• You’re highly motivated and organized.
• You are able to work independently and have a proactive attitude.
• You must have experience handling confidential information.
• It’s a bonus if you studied or are currently studying a program related to journalism.
• Experience as a social media influencer is a plus.

The Role

Funktasy Magazine is looking for writers, editors and journalists who are highly motivated, organized, and enthusiastic individual interested in learning more about the music industry, fashion, pop-culture, digital marketing, content creation and social media. This internship will allow individuals to gain first-hand experience in a variety of areas, including but not limited to, writing for a digital magazine, editorial and digital publication, interviews, marketing, design, advertisement, promotional campaigns, cross-promotion and sponsorship.

Your Responsibilities

• You will research and write on topics to increase readership and engagement of Funktasy Magazine and sub-divisions.
• You will write and create unique content along side our editorial team.
• You will work alongside the editorial team to plan, implement, and manage publication schedules.
• You will develop relationships with industry publicists and PR firms to reach potential interviewees.
• You will assist our social media team with relevant content across all social media networks.
• You will develop trendy topics to increase readership of article and sales.
• You will interview individuals of importance and write trending articles for audience.
• You will create campaign reports in close collaboration with our in-house team.
• You will proofread articles and manuscripts to identify any grammatical and spelling errors.
• You will perform certain administrative duties, such as replying to emails, and setting up meetings.
• You will be in touch with Funktasy Records’ artists and talent.
• You will research facts and new features to maintain accuracy within Funktasy Magazine.
• You must have an eye for viral trends which are the perfect fit to push our tracks and brand campaigns forward and deliver out of the box ideas.
• You must be comfortable in sharing ideas with internal teams.
• You will assist with internal briefings.
• You will review layouts and designs for publication covers.

Internship Terms & Conditions

• Funktasy Internship Programs are non-paid but the company is willing to work with a student to receive academic credit through their school/university program.
• You must be at least 18 years of age.
• We do not offer housing or travel accommodations.
• We do not offer any work visas for international students.
• All internship programs are in English.
