Education Expert

Mercor is seeking seasoned education professionals to collaborate with a leading AI research lab on a short-term project aimed at advancing AI capabilities in curriculum development, instructional design, and educational assessment. This engagement involves evaluating, refining, and calibrating AI outputs to ensure accuracy and pedagogical soundness across various educational domains, from K–12 to higher education and professional training. Participants will leverage their deep expertise to shape AI tools that replicate real-world teaching and learning workflows. This is a unique opportunity to apply your educational expertise toward training frontier AI systems.

Key Responsibilities

Review AI-generated lesson plans, learning materials, and assessment tools for accuracy, clarity, and instructional quality

Provide domain-specific feedback on AI outputs related to pedagogy, curriculum alignment, and student engagement strategies

Develop and refine evaluation rubrics for instructional content, assessment validity, and learning outcomes

Collaborate asynchronously with AI research teams to improve system reasoning and reliability in educational contexts

Audit AI-generated educational resources, training modules, and research summaries for clarity and usability

Ideal Qualifications

2+ years of professional or research experience in education, curriculum design, instructional technology, or related fields at top-tier institutions, organizations, or education technology companies

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Psychology, or a related discipline

Proven expertise in one or more domains: curriculum development, assessment design, instructional technology, special education, or teacher training

Strong proficiency with learning management systems, educational technology platforms, and assessment tools

Exceptional communication, instructional writing, and content evaluation skills

Candidate must reside in the US, UK, or Canada

Project Timeline

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: 6 months+

Commitment: Part-time, 20-40 hours/week

Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous - flexible working hours

Compensation & Contract

Hourly Rate: $70–$80/hr (USD), depending on experience

Status: Independent Contractor
