
Substitute Afterschool Leader
Position Summary
The Substitute Afterschool Leader provides support to our afterschool program by stepping in when regular staff are unavailable. This role ensures students continue to receive a safe, engaging, and structured experience. Substitutes are flexible, dependable, and enthusiastic about working with youth in academic, recreational, and enrichment activities. (PLEASE READ) This is an on-call position so please make sure your schedule aligns with the time frame 3pm-6pm.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and engage groups of students (elementary through high school, depending on site).
• Lead or assist with homework help, enrichment activities, and recreational games.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
• Follow program schedules and instructions from the Site Coordinator.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families as needed.
• Enforce program rules and safety procedures consistently.
Qualifications
• Passion for working with youth and creating positive experiences.
• Flexible, dependable, and able to adapt quickly to different groups and activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in youth work, education, childcare, or related fields preferred.
• Must pass a background check and attend required training.
Compensation
•Hourly pay, with the rate determined by the program.
