
Region 6 Field Operations Supervisor (Senior Public Service Administrator, Opt.6)
Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as Region 6 Field Operations Supervisor. This individual will administer and manage all field operations within Region 6, located in Northern Illinois, including licensure, federal and complaint surveys of long term care facilities. The Regional 6 Field Operations Supervisor is responsible for preparing and reviewing performance data, as well as developing performance improvement strategies which may include managing staffing levels and training needs. This individual will serve as supervisor.

Essential Functions
- Administers the implementation of the state licensure and federal certification survey process for long term care facilities within Region 6.
- Directs, coordinates, and reviews the long-term care activities of the field supervisors ensuring that policies and procedures are consistent across work units and are aligned with the directives of the Division Chief and the Assistant Division Chief.
- Serves as full-line supervisor.
- Serves as the Department liaison with the long-term care provider industry, the public, other state agencies and federal officials regarding survey activities.
- Develops and implements policy and procedures for field operation.
- Meets and discusses the long-term care survey process with internal and external stakeholders.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skills, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in Public Health related programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Four or more years of progressively responsible administrative experience in Medicare/Medicaid reltaed programs.
- Certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid as having passed the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT).
- Four or more years knowledge of state and federal regulations related to long term care facilities.
- Three or more years of supervisory experience.
- Two years of experience establishing, maintaining, and improving cooperative working relationships with various stakeholders.
- Two years of experience drafting, reviewing, and implementing policies and procedures.
- Two years experience with business communication with other agencies.
- Two years of experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Smart sheets.
