Position Summary
The Office of Communications is looking for a creative and outgoing student to join our social media team for the fall semester. This role is perfect for someone who loves being in front of the camera, enjoys making videos with friends and is passionate about content creation, storytelling, and social media marketing.
As a Student Social Media Content Creator, you’ll help showcase the HWS experience by developing fun, engaging videos for platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram Reels.
This position is open to all qualified students, including those eligible for Federal Work Study and International Student Work Study.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create short-form video content that captures student life, events, and campus culture
- Pitch creative ideas for content that aligns with HWS’ tone and brand
- Attend campus events and activities to create day-of and behind-the-scenes content
- Appear on camera and engage peers in interviews, challenges or trends
- Edit video footage using mobile apps or editing software
Qualifications:
- Comfortable appearing on camera and engaging with other students
- Creative with a good sense of current social media trends
- Interest in video editing and storytelling
- Ability to meet deadlines and follow content guidelines
- Reliable, self-motivated and enthusiastic about building community through content
- Experience with TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels or similar platforms preferred
