Mechanic

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Reports to Production Supervisor.  Activities within this classification include the repair of finished machines prior to shipping, which will include rework on the assembly line to help meet production needs.  Day to day personnel activities are assigned by the Production Supervisor.  Quality issues/activities shall be directed through the area supervisor.

 

Shift Available: 1st Shift - Monday-Friday 5a-3:30p

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains a safe work environment; details are dependent upon duties assigned  not limited to the following:

Repair machine issues as they are returned from the customer and escalated through the production process..

Record the required rework and return the completed machines to the Assembly or Shipping teams.

Provide the appropriate feedback to supervision and/or management concerning product quality.

Where appropriate and as directed, perform rework on machines in the production line including in order to maintain the flow of product through the area.

Whenever required may be called upon to sound test units to customer requirements and or country/region directives.

Where appropriate and as directed, support the engineering team with projects to improve the build process and improve the quality of built machines.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Experience and knowledge of all model machines built at Madison facility

Strong analytical and reasoning skills required

Must exhibit physical abilities to lift up to 50 lbs, safely

Self starter, team player and have the ability to multitask

 

EXPERTISE:

Must be able to read and interpret drawings, standard work instructions, checklists, internal and external deviations, etc

Excellent oral and written communication with all levels of personnel within the plant

Computer skills including knowledge of Google is preferred

 

EDUCATION:

Minimum high school diploma or GED preferred

 

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS:

This position will interact with all departments of Production

 

PAY RANGE:

Base Pay Range between $24 - $33 per hour, plus a potential quarterly bonus based on performance metrics

                         *Actual pay determined by experience level, skills, qualifications & work location

 

LOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED:

This position is located in Madison, SD

There is no travel for this position
