Deal Participations Closing and Monitoring Specialist

The Deal Participations Closing and Monitoring (MO Finops) Specialist plays a crucial role in partnering with various Business Lines, including Infrastructure, Acquisition, Sponsor Finance, Aviation, Real Estate, Coverage, Financial Institutions, and Credit Markets Operations Management. This position is essential for ensuring optimal support, customer service, risk management, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, highly motivated, consistently exhibits professional conduct, and possesses the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the major steps of the Credit Process, including pre-closing, closing of the facility, client processing, deal life monitoring, and repayment.
  • Serve as an expert resource and provide technical support to the Front Office.
  • Manage all aspects of insurance related to deals, including booking instructions, reconciliation, invoicing, and monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with Natixis’ requirements, and coordinate process improvements and execution.
  • Monitor and analyze collateral and covenant activities while maintaining an appropriate level of operational risk control.
  • Collaborate with teams within Natixis, including the Deal Closing team, Operations, Legal Department, Risk Department, Finance, IT, BPO, Front Office, and Compliance.
  • Maintain daily communication with clients to process financing requests.
  • Assist with process coordination and execution for improvements.

The primary tasks for the Deal Participations Closing and Monitoring (MO Finops) Specialist include maintaining a portfolio of committed and uncommitted client files, enforcing established procedures, monitoring risks, and employing sound practices to ensure a high level of service for both internal and external customers of the bank.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Front Office and attend pre-closing meetings for new deals as needed.
  • Review credit agreements to ensure compliance with credit approvals and collaborate with the Deal Closing team to book the deal in Loan IQ.
  • Address any discrepancies with credit approval by requesting a waiver from the Front Office.
  • Calculate insurance premiums for insured deals and ensure timely processing of payments as per Insurance Certificate requirements.
  • Confirm that all conditions precedent (CPs) are met before processing funding.
  • Collaborate with the Loan Booking team on deal bookings in Loan IQ by providing necessary information and performing required controls; review and validate the Deal Executive Memo in Sword when processed by the Deal Closing Team.
  • Monitor deals from closing to termination and work closely with the Front Office and Deal Closing team on events such as amendments and waivers to ensure proper booking.
  • Facilitate the booking of credit insurance upon receiving information from the Front Office and follow up with the Deal Closing team.
  • Set up covenants in Loan IQ for bilateral and participated deals, using the Natixis covenants tracking tool, or work with outsourced providers for proper setup.
  • Establish collateral in the Collateral module in Loan IQ and update values as required for specific Business Lines (quarterly, semiannually, or annually).
  • Prepare spreadsheets for facilities requiring Front Office approval for funding and oversee daily reconciliations and payment/funding processing activities.
  • Monitor financial and reporting covenants due from borrowers on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis; work closely with borrowers and report any past due or failed covenants to the Account Manager and/or Credit Risk Department.
  • Conduct monthly reporting, including reviewing distributions, contributions, cash availability in the collateral account, and quarterly cash sweeps.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as collateral reporting.
  • Confirm that facilities are repaid according to facility and credit approval requirements.
  • Maintain close connections with business, GFO Ops teams, outsourced providers, and internal support/control groups to enhance processes.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to optimize processes, controls, automation, and workforce management across full-time employees, temporary staff, and outsourced providers.
  • Monitor and proactively seek to minimize operational risks.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with support teams (IT, operations team members) to implement necessary changes.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of experience in commercial lending and asset financing support management at a commercial bank is essential.
  • Proven experience in handling insurance related to deals is required.
  • Undergraduate degree in finance or a related business field.
  • Working knowledge of bank systems such as Cash Plus, Loan IQ, and FBTI is a plus.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and comfort in calculating and interpreting financial ratios.

The salary range for the associate position will be between $110,000 - $130,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.

 

The salary range for the VP position will be between $125,000 - $150,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.
