Communications & Marketing Specialist
South Florida PBS is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Communications & Marketing Specialist to support the planning and execution of multi-media communications, public relations campaigns, and educational outreach events. This role collaborates with the Communications team to promote South Florida PBS programs, events, and services across multiple platforms including social media, newsletters, and other emerging media opportunities. Responsibilities include content creation for blogs, newsletters, and social media; coordination of marketing materials for events; drafting press releases and researching media contacts; and supporting production of video interstitials and promotional campaigns. The specialist will also assist with KidVision Pre-K Teachers Association outreach by researching sponsorships and facilitating professional development presentations nationally.
Additional duties include assisting the Director of Immersive Experiences in coordinating show schedules, managing ticketing, guest services, and special events, while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. The specialist will generate operational reports, support day-to-day venue operations, and help execute communications, development, and membership events. This role is also responsible for identifying sponsorship opportunities, managing promotional libraries, and fostering community engagement through workshops and partnerships.
A college degree in Public Relations, Communications, or Marketing is preferred, or equivalent experience. Candidates should have 1–2 years of experience in communications, public relations, and event coordination, with some production experience preferred. Must have a strong command of writing, editing, and grammar; experience in promotional campaign development; and proficiency with social media platforms, Microsoft Office, and video editing tools such as Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.
