The Division of State Care Facilities is seeking a skilled Financial Technician to join our dedicated team in Nampa, Idaho. Our financial services support several facilities serving Idaho’s most vulnerable populations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational abilities, proficiency with financial systems, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively. This position will be located at one of Idaho's historic landmarks, the Idaho State Sanitarium Administration building, that was built in the early 1900's and is surrounded by acres of open space with beautiful gardens, wildlife, and walking paths for our employees to enjoy.
This position is not eligible for telework.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
- Review and process invoices, receipts, and cover sheets for accounts payable to ensure timely vendor payments.
- Conduct daily payment status research and verification using the LUMA financial system.
- Maintain organized financial records by filing invoices and updating client account balances.
- Set up and manage vendor accounts in LUMA, ensuring accurate documentation and processing.
- Prepare and make bank deposits for State, Trust fund, client, and state checks, ensuring proper reconciliation.
- Manage petty cash, including disbursements, cashing checks, and balancing the cash box.
- Prepare and process purchase order requisitions to facilitate vendor purchases for the division.
- Enter and maintain client census and related information in tracking systems.
- Submit and manage monthly room and board billing for Medicaid claims accurately and timely.
- Provide front desk reception duties, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and handling inquiries.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position. - Good knowledge of financial record keeping methods. Typically gained by completion of two college accounting courses and at least one year of or experience OR completion of one college accounting course and at least two years of work experience OR at least three years of work experience OR a bachelor's degree in accounting OR a bachelor's degree in business with at least 20 semester credits in accounting.
- Experience researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports AND using personal computers to enter, retrieve, and edit financial data. Typically gained by completion of at least two computer courses on electronic spreadsheets / accounting software OR at least one year of work experience using this software.
