OPERATIONS FELLOW (INTERNSHIP)

JOB TITLE: Operations Fellow

REPORTS TO: School Partnerships Manager

CLASSIFICATION: part-time, intern

General Description:

Student Success Stores 501(c)3 is seeking a passionate, highly motivated, self-starter to join our Operations team! Our mission is to provide anonymous stores filled with hygiene products, easy-to-eat food items, school-code clothing, and school supplies inside schools. By providing students with the essentials, we aim to ensure that each child starts the school day healthy, confident, and ready to learn. The Operation Fellow(s) will help us manage the logistics of our warehouse and nine Student Success Stores inside of Columbus City Schools.

What you’ll gain:

This fellowship will provide students with a meaningful experience in logistics, operations, and volunteer management within the nonprofit sector. In addition, students will be exposed to a variety of partnerships from corporate and individual donors to other non-profit and government organizations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports daily operations of the stores and the warehouse, ensuring that all products and incoming donations are safely and accurately purchased and/or stocked, and logged in the system
  • Follows safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for all volunteers and Board Members who support Students Success Stores on Warehouse activities
  • Implementing, communicating, and maintaining quality control policies and standard work procedures
  • Support board members in preparing for volunteer groups including but not limited to: organizing checklists, setting up the space for volunteer activities, ensuring products are available and easily found
  • Managing delivery and transport of products to school stores whenever needed
  • Must pass FBI/CBI background check

Requirements:

  • Currently working towards a bachelor’s degree– at least a sophomore in college
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office and Google suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, Forms)
  • Must have a car to transport product from warehouse to stores
  • Must be able to fulfill internship for entire semester (i.e. Fall, Spring, or Summer)
  • Considered in good academic standing by their University

  • Passion for Education in underserved communities
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and email communication
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Attention to accuracy and detail on all levels
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Comfortable with multitasking in a deadline-driven environment

3 positions are open to support the different regions we serve: South/West regions, North Region, East Region and Central Region

Hours per week: 5- 10 (negotiable)

Compensation: $15 per hour
