Project Technical Specialist

Project Technical Specialist

 

SUMMARY

Implements the activities and functions of a designated project with specific knowledge in assigned functional area.  This position ensures that the goals and objectives for the project are accomplished in accordance with program specifications.  [“Project” refers to carrying out a specific service or specific activity within a department program or a district program.]

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in project related area AND
  • One year of experience in project related area.

OR

  • Five years of experience in a project related area
  • Word Processing/Database/Spreadsheet Program Knowledge
  • Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.    

 May be additional requirements depending on functional area assigned.

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of and experience using the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) standards
  • Completion of one Project Management course
  • Experience using project management tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet
  • Experience in creating agendas, minutes, and action items

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE

  • FBI fingerprint background check.
  • Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

  • Project Technical Specialist pay range $23.04 to $26.74/hour

  • Classification: Supervisory/Professional
  • FTE: 1.0 – 8 hours per day 
  • Work Calendar: 12 month  
  • Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
