Special Education Paraprofessional
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in working with K-12 students preferred
- Ability to work cooperatively within a team
- Associate's Degree or proof of passage of WorkKeys Test preferred
Job Description:
- Work with students in general education or special education classroom settings.
- Assisting students with health care plans
- Provide general or special education classroom support
- Individual tutoring in academics and social skills
- Directing/redirecting attention
- Finding, modifying, and preparing materials
- Administering formal behavior management procedures
- Assisting/monitoring moving around the building
- Assist with peer support activities
- Assisting students with personal hygiene activities and lifting of students
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
- The position requires occasional lifting of supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day.
- Work takes place both indoors and outdoors.
