
Resource Specialist and Spanish Interpreter
River Valley Family Health Centers is looking for a Resource Specialist and Spanish Interpreter to join our team! Located in Montrose and Delta, CO, the Resource Specialist and Spanish Interpreter provides high quality care to patients by evaluating, identifying, offering translation services, and offering advocacy and support for patient social determinates of health.
The Resource Specialist and Spanish Interpreter position is a full-time position; 40 hours per week. We are a growing, exciting place to work, serving our community in a variety of ways. Come join our team!
A day in the life of a Resource Specialist and Spanish Interpreter includes:
- Interpreting verbal communication between the staff and the Spanish speaking population, translating written educational materials and documents in accordance with guidelines; follows up with the Spanish speaking population, and assists them in completing medical, financial, and related forms.

- $18.71 - $20.79/hour, depending on experience and certifications

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Spanish certification preferred. Must be able to pass a Spanish proficiency test upon hire and be willing and able to obtain the Medical Spanish certification within one year of hire.
- Associate degree in a foreign language or equivalency preferred.
- At least one year of experience interpreting in an ambulatory health care setting preferred.
- Completion of an approved education program for Certified Nursing Aid or Medical Assistant with current licensure preferred.
- Active BLS Certification.
- Must demonstrate cultural sensitivity when working with individuals and groups of diverse racial, ethnic, economic, and social backgrounds.
- Knowledge of safety and clinical standards.
- Ability to work independently in an efficient, productive manner maintaining composure and sensitivity in accordance with the environment of health care services.
- Ability to travel between clinics as needed.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with team members, patients, families, and others.
- Ability to utilize a computer for time keeping, documenting electronic medical records, and to complete follow-up tasks.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
This position requires long periods of standing and walking, sitting at a computer, the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds, etc. Employees are exposed to blood, body fluids, and other occupational hazards, and are required to complete mandatory vaccines, such as Tdap, Hep A, Hep B, MMR, Varicella, and the yearly flu vaccine.
