Master's Programs Student Assistant

Department Description 

In the Paul Merage School of Business, the Specialty Masters Programs Department includes the following 4 programs: Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAc), Master of Finance (MFin), Master of Business Analytics (MSBA) and Master of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MIE). 

Position Summary 

The Student Assistant will support the Program Services and Recruitment and Admissions Departments with the following duties: 

  • Process applications through data verification, inputting test scores, translating transcripts, calculating/converting international GPAs and moving applications for review to the admissions committee 
  • Front office coverage includes but not limited to: answering student walk-ins, coordinating staff appointments and directing students to different resources 
  • Assist in setting up Specialty Masters Programs events, such as Information Sessions, Orientation, and Program Mixers and packing materials for recruitment events 
  • General office support: create mail merge letters/labels and update Excel spreadsheets • Special projects as needed 

Required Qualifications 

  • Strong organizational skills and a strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to coordinate and follow through on multiple complex tasks 
  • Friendly attitude and professional demeanor 
  • Ability to communicate and interact positively and effectively with staff and faculty at all levels 
  • Ability to function autonomously and collaboratively to accomplish goals 
  • Knowledge of general office protocol and able to work under minimal supervision 
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of a personal computer 
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
