Part-time or Full-time Opportunity – Melanie Roy Design, NYC

Melanie Roy Design is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Assistant (or Design Intern) to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is organized, and has a keen eye for detail. The position offers the opportunity to grow into a long-term part-time or full-time role.

What You’ll Do

-Source fabrics, lighting, and furniture for active projects

-Assist in preparing AutoCAD drawings, including floor plans, RCPs, and elevations

-Conduct on-site measuring and document dimensions accurately

-Create tear sheets and organize project specifications

-Coordinate with vendors and help manage sample orders

What We’re Looking For

-Strong organizational skills and the ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-Comfortable communicating by phone and email in a professional manner

-Proficiency in AutoCAD (Studio Designer a plus)

-A proactive approach and willingness to jump in wherever needed

-At least 1–2 years of prior work experience as a design intern
