CITYarts Intern

CITYarts Intern Job Description

CITYarts engages youth with professional artists in the creation of public art, including murals and mosaics. Through this creative process, CITYarts empowers, educates, and connects youth and children locally and around the world to become active participants in realizing their potential and transforming communities.

 

The intern will report to the Assistant to the Director to provide essential assistance in office management as well as project coordination. The applicant should be interested in non-profit arts administration/management and art education. A career goal of growing in the field of non-profit arts administration is key. The applicant will gain essential experience in office management, delegation, grants and fundraising, bookkeeping, and project management. This internship provides a small stipend of $15/8hrs worked to offset travel and food expenses, paid bi-weekly. DISCLAIMER: High schoolers are strongly encouraged to apply, but cannot be paid.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Helping ensure Project budgets are complete and recorded accurately
  • Assisting with foundation research
  • Support special events and exhibition coordination
  • Updating social media
  • Creating project planning materials
  • Inventorying on site and in office
  • Transporting supplies and materials to and from work sites
  • Assisting artists at worksites in whatever way possible which may include
  • Global, local, and national outreach to communities, teachers, and governments

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • MUST be available to work flexible hours during the Affordable Art Fair:
    • Wednesday, September 17: 6pm-9pm
    • Thursday, September 18: 12pm-8pm
    • Friday, September 19: 12pm-9pm
    • Saturday, September 20: 10am-8pm
    • Sunday, September 21: 10am-5pm
  • Interested in non-profit fundraising and management for the arts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Experienced with social media outreach
  • Energetic and personable
