About the Role:
MTMHI is seeking an Infection Control Nurse (RN3) to manage MTMHI’s Infection Control program efficiently while ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital policies. This position plays a key role in maintaining hospital operations by scanning patient records into the electronic clinical record, tracking scanned documents for accuracy, maintaining a high level of privacy for patients and their protected health information (PHI) and ensuring data integrity in hospital systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surveillance and Monitoring
- Track, investigate, and analyze infection trends within MTMHI
- Maintain records of Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) and report them to public health agencies as required
- Use data to identify outbreaks, transmission sources, and high-risk area or practices
- Education and Training
- Educate staff, patients, and visitors on infection prevention practices (e.g., hand hygiene, PPE use, isolation precautions).
- Develop and implement training programs and updates based on guidelines from CDC and other agencies.
- Promote a culture of safety and compliance across all departments.
- Policy Development and Compliance
- Create, update, and enforce infection control policies and protocols in alignment with regulatory standards (e.g., CDC, OSHA, Joint Commission).
- Conduct audits to assess compliance and intervene when deficiencies are found.
- Act as a liaison during inspections and accreditation processes related to infection control.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Previous IC experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Familiarity with AVATAR or similar electronic clinical record (ECR) systems is a plus.
