Summer 2026 Marketing Specialist Intern
Union Home Mortgage’s L.E.A.D Internship Program’s goal is to provide a fun, interesting, and real-world environment for our interns to Learn about the industry, be Educated by Sr. Leadership and their peers, Achieve their personal goals and Develop their skills and knowledge base. We pride ourselves in providing innovative programs for our interns in order for them to learn and grow they progress through their careers. Some of the programs we offer include: shadowing, mentoring, professional development, group projects and we even take our interns on corporate outings! Our internship program gives students a chance to meet new people, gain more experience, and learn from the best in the business! Our interns are treated like full-time Partners who work 40 hours a week during the 3-month summer program, are compensated, and based out of headquarters in Strongsville, Ohio.
The Marketing Specialist Intern displays project manager-like qualities as they take ownership of assigned areas within Marketing that may be region, business, or channel-specific and based on level of skill. This individual is responsible for understanding Partner marketing needs and delivering a strategic, data-informed marketing approach. The Marketing Specialist Intern blends process, creativity, and marketing expertise to collaborate with others and deliver world-class marketing. They should be able to analyze goals and audience insights to contribute to strategy development and brief creation.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with assigned brand and corporate marketing requests, contributing creative input and operational support.
- Provide support to the marketing team by listening, strategizing, and collaborating to deliver world=class results.
- Present findings and ideas to the marketing team and (where appropriate) senior leadership, effectively communicating project progress and partner feedback to help the marketing team develop resources to meet their goals
- Analyze data, audience insights, and performance results to help inform marketing strategies and campaign development.
- Create and contribute to marketing briefs by clearly identifying goals, audiences, and key messages.
- Multi-task and manage time through understanding resources.
- Create content for marketing materials, including social media, blogs, flyers, and other print or digital collateral.
- Update project files and enter data into marketing systems, including One Drive, Monday.com and social media.
- Follow established marketing processes and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to department brainstorms for creating purposeful, strategic marketing solutions for a growing national mortgage brand.
- Ensure that all content meets the brief objectives and has been proof-checked.
Qualifications
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Marketing Strategy & Analytics – ability to interpret data and marketing performance metrics to inform strategy and recommendations.
- Marketing Skills and Tools – content development, graphic design experience (a plus); digital tools, email marketing, social media, project management tools, website publishing tools or analytics platforms.
- Project Management Skills – understanding scope, deadlines, leveraging resources, collaborating effectively with other Partners, meeting or exceeding deadlines.
- Communications Skills – both verbal and written, clarifying assignments, progress, status, and questions. Ensuring all work aligns to brief and is proofed.
- Organizational Skills – fulfilling deadlines, time management, prioritization.
- Interpersonal Skills – excellent people skills, collaboration with team members and diverse Partners across all departments.
- Initiative – drive to learn new skills and seek out resources to grow.
- Positivity + Patience - optimistic outlook and willingness to be an integral part of a powerful team.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Currently enrolled as a college senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. Students graduating at the end of the internship term are strongly preferred.
- Prior marketing internship or project experience is a plus, but not required. No previous mortgage experience necessary.
