DESCRIPTION OF WORK

 

As a Registered Nurse Instructor, you will design and deliver educational programs that meet nursing staff development requirements. You will plan and implement an orientation program for all new nursing staff, evaluate progress throughout the orientation period, and document required training and in-service hours. You will also present professional educational training programs, as well as demonstrate new nursing procedures and equipment. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively oversee programs that meet licensure regulations and validate nursing practices and procedures. In addition, you will consult with management staff regarding the educational needs of the facility and maintain a system for recording educational training program completion.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may flex as needed.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of professional nursing experience; and a bachelor’s degree in nursing, nursing education, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university; or
  • One year of professional nursing experience and a master's degree in nursing, nursing education, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.

 

Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
