Public Relations (PR) 2025-2026 School Year Internship (PAID)

We are looking 2025-2026 interns to assist our team throughout the school year. This longer format internship allows students to get a comprehensive experience and work closely with our teams throughout the year. Students must be able to commit to two, 4-hour intern shift, in person, on Tuesdays-Thursdays at our offices.

Applicants who are selected from our initial evaluation of candidates will be asked to submit a short video explaining their interest in Jasper Paul to move on in our interview process. Not all candidates who are asked to submit a video will move forward in the interview process. After video submissions are reviewed, candidates will be informed if they will be moving on to the final interview.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Writing of media materials from press releases, pitches to journalists, segment briefs, etc.
  • Participation in brainstorm for clients from restaurant promotions to grassroots initiatives with target audiences
  • Interaction with media at restaurant tastings, photo shoots and television segments
  • Introduction to some of the top hospitality leaders in St. Louis
  • Other perks: occasional free meals, networking opportunities, attendance at industry special events, etc.

What We’re Looking For…

  3. Drive and excitement for the hospitality industry*
  4. Ability to work independently by setting own personal deadlines and goals
  5. Creative thinker that works well in a collaborative team environment
  • Genuine passion for hospitality, food, travel, etc. It always helps to have real world experience of the hospitality industry, but it doesn’t have to be fancy!
  • Interest in writing. Think AP-style with a creative voice. We look for writers who use active voice with descriptive language to bring our clients’ stories to life.
  • Knowledge of Social Media. We look for individuals who will bring ideas to the table for engaging content on platforms of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter as well as e-communications such as newsletters. We will particularly look for individuals with interest in developing Reels and TikToks.
  • Experience in Google Drive & Adobe (not necessary, but appreciated). For drafting of materials in Google Docs, Sheets & Slides. As well as for basic editing needs of photography, video as well as creation of collateral and ad materials.
  • A Person for People (Not Just a People Person): We are in the business of service to our clients, and we do so by forming lasting relationships with them. We ask questions, we stay intrigued, we get to know them outside of the kitchen. We look for individuals who want to embrace this intrigue and genuine interest by being outspoken, professional, positive and polite.

Details:

  • $3,000 stipend for the length of internship, interns will be paid every 5 weeks in quarterly installments)
  • Two Sessions:
    • Fall: 10 weeks paid (September 9-November 20)
      • Interns will have a week off for Fall Break over this 11-week time frame. We will pause the internship from the week of Thanksgiving-December to allow for holiday breaks and finals. The internship will return in January.
    • Spring: 13 weeks paid (January 20-April 30)
      • Interns will reconvene on Tuesday, Jan. 20. They will have a week off for Spring Break as well as a week of flex time over the 15-week time frame.
  • 8 hours /week (Tuesday-Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
    • We can be flexible and accommodate a 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. time frame, but interns must be available to work at least two 4-hour shifts a week on Tuesday-Thursday
  • In-person at our Jasper Paul Offices (602 W. Kirkham Avenue) to learn from our team
  • Internship for credit hours available
  • Performance reviews will be evaluated at the end of the fall term to ensure the role still aligns with both Jasper Paul and interns
