Accounting Associate

Permanent full-time year-round position

The Accounting Associate performs a variety of general accounting functions including work with General Ledger, A/P, Fixed Assets, Bank Reconciliations and Credit Card Reconciliations. The Accounting Associate will assist the Controller with work related to the preparation and maintenance of financial records, and auditing of financial transactions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform account analysis and reconciliation of various accounts.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures and reports as specified.
  • Review invoices for proper reporting of sales and use tax.
  • Assist with maintaining payables for various entities, entering invoices, processing checks and reconciling vendor statements.
  • Assist with sales and use tax returns.
  • Maintain fixed asset ledger.

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associates degree (or higher) in Accounting/Finance or Business Administration preferred.
  • 10+ years prior hospitality related industry experience preferred.
  • Prior experience with computers, QuickBooks, excel and Word required.
  • Strong organization and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with all levels of management.
  • Ability to meet deadlines for time-sensitive activities.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality over all written records and oral communications.
  • Multi-tasking ability and attention to detail.
