Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapist plans and provides comprehensive patient care, manages available nursing resources, and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to provide quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Full-time, Day Shift Weekender; 72 hours per pay period paid for 80 hours, benefited
Essential Duties Include:
- Provides clinical evaluation and assessment of all age groups of patients served by the facility including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Evaluates patient assessments and responses to interventions and takes appropriate action according to established standards.
- Participates in patient and family education as evidenced by teaching documentation on appropriate forms.
- Initiates effective discharge and referral plans on admission utilizing appropriate hospital and community resources.
- Maintains knowledge and competency in respiratory therapy for all ages of patients, including, but not limited to ventilators, noninvasive ventilation, CPAP, and other respiratory modalities.
Educational Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Respiratory Care required
- Respiratory Therapist (RRT), or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with one year to complete Registry exam
- BLS upon hire
- NRP certification within 3 months of hire
- ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) by the state of Wisconsin
