
Food Safety and R&D Technician
The Food Safety and R&D Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and quality of food products while also contributing to new product development and process improvements. They perform a variety of tasks, including quality control testing, sanitation checks, and assisting in the development of new food products. This role requires a blend of technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in both laboratory and production settings.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Food Safety Assurance:
- Conducting food safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
- Supporting the development and implementation of food safety policies and procedures.
- Training employees on food safety practices and HACCP.
- Monitoring and analyzing food safety data, generating reports.
- Collaborating with quality assurance teams to address and correct any food safety issues.
- Quality Control:
- Performing tests and inspections of raw materials, ingredients, and finished products.
- Ensuring equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
- Monitoring and sampling for cleanliness and sanitation.
- Conducting microbiological, analytical, and sensory testing.
- R&D Support:
- Assisting in the development and testing of new food products.
- Developing and maintaining recipes.
- Performing chemical and physical analyses on food products and ingredients.
- Supporting product scale-up processes.
- Collaborating with marketing and sales teams to commercialize new products.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Accurately recording and reporting results from tests and inspections.
- Maintaining records related to food safety, quality, and product development.
- Updating food safety and quality documents.
- Contributing to the development of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field is often required.
Technical Skills:
.Knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP), analytical techniques (e.g., microbiology, wet chemistry), and quality control procedures.
