This is a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in the intersection of marketing, entertainment, and media production. If you’re someone who likes comedy, thinks visually, and enjoys bringing ideas to life, we want to hear from you.
Note that this job will require that you sacrifice a weekend night or weeknight every week or two to create content from live comedy shows. Bonus points given if you have your own equipment and access to software to do the job.
What You’ll Do:
- Social Media Management: Create and schedule posts across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, etc.
- Content Creation: Capture live footage, behind-the-scenes moments, and interviews for comedy shows and documentaries.
- Video Editing: Assist with editing reels, shorts, trailers, and longer-form comedy content.
- Photo & Video Shooting: Help shoot promotional material for local comedy events and performers.
- Graphic Design: Design flyers, thumbnails, posters, and digital assets aligned with each event or comedian’s unique vibe.
- Brand Promotion: Help craft and maintain consistent branding for our comedy production company and shows.
- Creative Strategy: Assist with brainstorming campaigns, names, and angles for promoting events and projects.
What We’re Working On:
- A comedy documentary about diverse stand-up performers and the scene behind the mic
- Ongoing local comedy shows and events in the Twin Cities and beyond
- Online growth and promotion for individual comedians
What We’re Looking For:
- Background or interest in marketing, design, media, film, or communications
- Skills in tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut
- Experience or interest in filming live events and editing comedy content
- A strong visual sense and a fun, collaborative energy
- Bonus points if you’re funny—or love being around people who are. We might test some jokes out on you!
What You’ll Get:
- A negotiable base hourly or project-based wage with commission for sold tickets that result from your efforts
- Real-world experience producing and promoting entertainment content
- Mentorship and networking in the creative and comedy industries from behind-the-scenes
- A growing portfolio of content and designs tied to live events and media projects
- Flexible hours and schedule
- A front-row seat to some seriously funny stuff
