Our outpatient clinic, located in the heart of Dickinson, offers speech and language therapy in addition to occupational therapy. We have five individual treatment rooms and one large therapy gym complete with sensory equipment and every game you could imagine!

Responsibilities
Assessment & Diagnosis
- Evaluate patients for speech, language, communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
- Use standardized tests, clinical observations, and input from families, teachers, or other professionals.
- Develop differential diagnoses based on data and patient history.
Treatment Planning
- Develop individualized treatment plans (IEPs, IFSPs, or therapy goals) based on client needs.
- Set short- and long-term goals for communication or swallowing improvement.
- Coordinate care with other professionals (OTs, PTs, BCBAs, teachers, physicians).
Therapy & Intervention
- Provide direct therapy for:
- Articulation/speech sound disorders
- Language delays or disorders (receptive & expressive)
- Fluency/stuttering
- Voice/resonance disorders
- Cognitive-communication disorders
- Swallowing/dysphagia
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
- Use evidence-based interventions and adapt for age, ability, and diagnosis.
Family & Caregiver Training
- Educate families, caregivers, and teachers on strategies to support communication goals.
- Provide home programs and progress updates.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Write and update progress reports and documentation for insurance or educational systems.
Collaboration & Consultation
- Work as part of multidisciplinary teams (e.g., with OTs, PTs, psychologists, special educators).
- Consult with educators, medical staff, or employers to support client success in school, work, or daily life.
Professional Development
- Stay current with advances in research and best practices in the field.
- Participate in continuing education and maintain licensure/certification (e.g., ASHA CCCs).
