The department requires completion of the following no later than the end of day Saturday, August 23, 2025:

Salary Information: Annual starting salary for new hires is $87,453.32 - $109,216.64.  Pay differentials for advanced EMT certifications are available as follows;

·       Advanced 2%

·       Intermediate 5%

·       Paramedic 9.5%

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Possession of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification or higher.
  2. Possession of a Firefighter 1 certification from IFSAC/NFPA/DPSST/Pro Board or any state or nationally accredited certifying body.
  3.  Successfully complete and pass the National Testing Network (NTN) process:

·       FireTEAM Exam

·       Public Safety Self Assessment (PSSA)

·       NTN Personal History Questionnaire

·       Virtual Interviews

Age: 18

US Citizen: Must be a U.S. citizen

High School Grad/GED: Yes

Valid OREGON State Driver's License: Yes

Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes

College: Preferred but not required.

 

Additional Requirements:

·       Firefighter 1 certificate from IFSAC/NFPA/DPSST/ProBoard or any state or nationally accredited certifying body and graduation from an accredited EMT program.

·       No felony convictions or other criminal activity disqualifiers as per State of Oregon regulations.

·       Must meet the physical qualifications and pass a background check, medical and psychological exam, and drug screen prior to appointment.
