Business Analytics & Reporting Intern

Job Summary

The Business Analytics & Reporting Intern will support the organization’s data-driven decision-making by analyzing business data, generating reports, and identifying trends. This role is ideal for a student who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and communicating insights clearly to stakeholders.

Work Responsibilities & Duties

  • Collect, clean, and analyze operational, financial, and customer data
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs) and other business metrics
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing analytics projects
  • Present findings and recommendations to business leaders
  • Assist in automating recurring reports and improving data workflows
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned by direct supervisor

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Must be a sophomore or higher pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Management Technology, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Business/Management Quantitative Methods, Accounting, or Finance

 

Preferred Skills and Expectations

  • Must have exceptional analytical skills and be able to work with complex sets of data
  • Detail oriented with ability work with speed and accuracy
  • Results focused, acts decisively, displays initiative
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with various levels and departments within the organization
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel

 

Physical Demands

This position requires performing tasks that involve constant sitting and keyboarding. This means you'll be working at a computer for extended periods, so maintaining good posture and taking regular breaks to stretch and move around will be important.

 

Working Conditions

The work environment for this position is consistently indoors.  This means your daily tasks will be performed in an office setting or similarly controlled environment.

 

Additional Notes 

  • No travel is required for this position
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • While travel within Storm Lake is self-managed, housing assistance is available for candidates relocating to Storm Lake
