
Graphic Designer and Print Production Coordinator
Develops communication and marketing materials for Kansas Farm Bureau, Kansas Farm Bureau Health Plans and the Kansas county Farm Bureaus. Uses current graphic design software on a PC platform to create visually appealing and effective designs for a wide range of applications, such as ads, signs, social media art, newsletters, displays, websites, logos, and booklets while overseeing all phases of the full print production lifecycle.
Seeking a creative and detail-oriented candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes initiative without constant supervision. This role combines visual design expertise with hands-on coordination of print production. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicate clearly with both internal teams and external vendors, and consistently meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Design appealing print and digital marketing materials including advertisements, banners, brochures, flyers, posters, signage, websites and social media graphics.
- Create layouts, illustrations, logos and other visual elements.
- Collaborates with staff and county Farm Bureaus on print, digital and web designs understanding their requirements, objectives and target audience.
- Accepts and provides constructive feedback to improve design iterations.
- Performs thorough quality checks on final designs to ensure accuracy, visual consistency and adherence to project requirements and brand guidelines.
- Communicate effectively to ensure the designs meet expectations and align with the project goals.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions.
- Obtains approval of design concepts by preparing rough layouts for review.
- Produces quality products ensuring projects are completed within deadlines.
- Organize and manage design files, while maintaining a structured file system, version control and archiving.
- Ensure all design assets are easily accessible and properly labeled for efficient workflow.
- Stays updated on the latest design trends, techniques and software advancements, applying best practices in graphic design to deliver high-quality and modern designs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field and at least three years of professional graphic design experience.
- Proficiency and hands-on experience in latest version of Adobe In-Design, Photoshop and Illustrator in PC platform.
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals using fonts, color, type, size and images.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Requires a high level of thinking and a desire to create solutions that fit the organization and affiliated companies.
- Has a demonstrated ability to turn complex technical concepts into easily understood materials.
- Must be a team player, possess a good work ethic, adaptable, detail oriented and deadline driven.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Needs to stay abreast of industry standard technological advances in the field and be able to identify areas of use in the organization.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with commercial printers and understanding of prepress requirements.
- WordPress and photography experience.
- Familiarity with project management tools.
- Basic knowledge of digital marketing platforms.
Authority
- Makes recommendations to the Assistant Director of Marketing.
- Has no supervisory authority.
Relationships
- Communicates with external vendors and printers on a regular basis to ensure deadlines are met and materials are printed to the highest quality.
- Has frequent contact with Kansas Farm Bureau and county Farm Bureau staff and works with them to seek continuous improvement in designs.
