Teen Center Staff
The Teen Center Supervisor is responsible for supporting the day to day functioning of the Brunswick Area Teen Center. These duties include, but are not limited to, preparing meals, ensuring the rules of the space are followed, engaging with members of the center, leading activities, chaperoning field trips and other duties as needed. Shifts are typically 2pm to 6pm, Monday through Friday. Hours may shift for half-days and school breaks, but will be discussed in advance. We will be hiring on a rolling basis until all shifts are filled.
Holiday pay and sick time included.
Responsibilities:
● Help prepare meals each day
● Engage with members of the Center and promote a welcoming environment for our youth.
● Support regular staff members with monitoring youth within the Center and on Teen Center
sponsored trips and activities.
-Lead activities for small groups
-Assist with monitoring shared spaces within the school during Teen Center hours. -Ensuring that no members of the Teen Center are wandering or loitering where they shouldn’t.
-Represent the Teen Center at various community events as opportunities arise.
-Act as a positive role model and foster positive relationships with teens
Qualifications:
● Comfortable working with youth in grades 6 to 12.
● Ability to enforce all Teen Center rules and expectations.
● Comfort preparing a variety of meals and snacks with guidance.
● Able to communicate effectively with youth and parents from a variety of backgrounds.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands/Essential Functions:
● Ability to work standing up or seated for prolonged periods of time, but with freedom of movement.
● Ability to handle and/or move materials and supplies and set up and take down tables and chairs onan occasional basis.
● Ability to complete tasks while working in loud or often hectic environments
● Ability to spend prolonged periods of time outside, often walking varying distances on uneven
terrain.
● Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues with Teen Center devices, software, or systems as
they arise.
