Video Production Intern

SUMMARY   

We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Video Production Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in all aspects of video content creation, from pre-production planning to post-production editing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Video Editing:
    • Edit interviews, performance footage, and promotional trailers using professional editing software
    • Create engaging content that aligns with brand standards and project objectives
    • Collaborate with team members to refine video concepts and execute creative vision
  • Video Recording & Production:
    • Operate professional camera equipment and audio recording devices
    • Set up and manage microphone systems for optimal sound quality
    • Assist with lighting setup and on-location filming

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically:
    • Adobe Premiere Pro (video editing)
    • Adobe After Effects (motion graphics and visual effects)
    • Adobe Photoshop (image editing and graphics creation)
  • Knowledge of professional camera operation and settings
  • Understanding of professional microphone types and audio recording techniques
  • Basic lighting and composition principles

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in, or recent graduate of, film, media production, communications, or related field
  • Portfolio demonstrating video editing and production capabilities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
  • Ability to work independently and take creative initiative

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

Dallas Black Dance Theatre staff are working in administrative offices located at 2700 Ann Williams Way, Dallas, Texas 75201 in the Dallas Arts District. Hours - Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with occasional nights and weekends for performances and special events. 

This role will require successful candidates to work in-person for up to 10 hours a week at DBDT’s offices located in the Dallas Arts District.
