ABOUT HUB FINANCE AND BUSINESS OPERATIONS
HUB Finance and Business Operations serves the HUB and 10 other Student Life departments with Shared Services support encompassing human resources, information technology, and finance/accounting. HUB Finance and Business Operations processes thousands of transactions annually; oversees the activities of 60 full-time staff and 200+ student staff; and acts as comptroller for $20 million.
The HUB has an outstanding opportunity for an IT Student Assistant to join our team.
- Expected Start Date: September 21, 2025.
- Hours Per Week: Up to 19.5 during the academic quarter.
- Work performed in person M – Th between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (Flexible based on class schedule).
- Pay Rate: $20.76 per hour.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will be expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
- Receive, create, review, categorize, assign, triage, and monitor incoming tickets.
- Working with the IT Administrator, investigate tickets, identify root cause of issues, and respond accordingly to deploy resolutions.
- Track and monitor IT assets and inventory.
- Create and maintain automations, scripts, and other tools to support the management of devices and services.
- Using Wordpress, draft and publish minor updates to websites.
- Write and maintain end-user documentation and tutorials. Contribute to IT knowledge base.
- Complete and support special projects as assigned.
- Attend and complete unit and department training as scheduled.
- Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
All HUB Student employees must meet these minimum requirements to be eligible for employment:
- Current student enrolled in 6 credits (4 if graduate student) or granted “On Leave” status.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Students interested in this position must also meet these additional requirements:
- Satisfactory completion of coursework in Informatics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Business Information Systems, or equivalent experience and education.
- Strong technical understanding of Windows systems.
- Strong technical understanding of Microsoft Suite products.
- Familiar with Wordpress.
- Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot issues by applying critical thinking skills.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized and have strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Pattern of excellent attendance and punctuality.
