Position Title: Title I Interventionist 

Location: Marquette Elementary, Oakview Elementary, Bunker Elementary  


 

Available: August 2025

Duration: August 21, 2025 – May 28, 2026; Grant Funded Position

Rate: Hourly Rate for certified teacher: $32.77 

 Hourly Rate for a paraprofessional: $19.56

 28 hours per week, 7 hours per day Monday-Thursday, 140 days per academic       year

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree OR 60 completed credit hours OR achieved minimum ETS Paraprofessional Assessment score of 460

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education and valid Michigan Teaching Certificate as required by MDE.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in training before the start of the program as well as on-going training.
  2. Work closely with classroom teachers, MTSS Coordinator, Literacy Coordinator, and Building Administration to work with students on activities planned by teacher, reading specialist or instructional coach.
  3. Provide intervention to identified groups of students, which may include: reading with or to students, giving guidance while listening to students read, word-learning and word-analysis activities, assisting students in writing, and other literacy activities based on teacher provided lesson plans.
  4. Conduct small group lessons during designated intervention blocks.
  5. Communicate to classroom teacher and Literacy Coordinator regarding progress of students.
  6. Effectively manage students within small group learning situations.
  7. Complete all required state and federal documentation, activity logs, including time and effort reports, annual certifications and/or personnel activity reports.

  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Good organizational skills and initiative, ability to work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate with staff, students and public.
  • Ability to implement with student, strategies learned in training sessions.
