Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Manager of Legal Recruiting to oversee and manage all aspects of legal talent acquisition for associates and select specialist roles at a national law firm. This individual will work closely with firm leadership to drive strategic hiring initiatives, oversee the summer associate program, and ensure an exceptional candidate experience across the recruitment lifecycle. This position plays a key role in shaping the firm’s legal talent and supporting its long-term growth goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the full-cycle recruitment process for associate and specialist legal hires across multiple offices.
Partner with practice group leaders to assess hiring needs and identify high-quality lateral candidates.
Manage relationships with external legal search firms and utilize internal resources to develop candidate pipelines.
Review application materials, conduct candidate screening, coordinate interviews, and manage feedback and communication throughout the process.
Draft and issue offer letters for associate, summer associate, and other specialist positions.
Plan and execute the Summer Associate Program, including scheduling, training, evaluations, and social events.
Maintain and update recruiting databases and ensure accurate reporting of recruiting activity.
Represent the firm at law schools and recruiting events, managing on-campus interview efforts and developing relationships with career services staff.
Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in legal recruiting and talent acquisition.
Supervise, mentor, and support junior members of the legal recruiting team.
Track recruiting expenses and ensure alignment with the departmental budget.
Coordinate closely with firm leadership including the CEO, COO, Chief Talent Officer, and Hiring Partners.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of 5 years of legal recruiting experience within a law firm environment.
At least 1 year of supervisory experience managing recruiting processes or teams.
Special Requirements
Occasional travel to regional offices and law schools.
Availability to attend evening events as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge of legal recruiting best practices and candidate evaluation methods.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Experience using legal recruiting software (e.g., LawCruit, Leopard Solutions) preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit sound judgment.
Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Work Environment
Hybrid work environment with in-office presence required 3 days per week (Tuesday–Thursday).
