As a Tech Writer at Pebble, you will play a pivotal role in creating essential documentation for owner information, manufacturing and service requirements. Your goal will be to develop comprehensive technical documentation that enables the team to effectively support vehicles and serves as the foundation for technical training, manufacturing process, and service operations.
Beyond the immediate responsibilities of creating essential documentation, you will influence and refine our documentation practices and contribute to the development of standards, methodologies, and best practices that will guide our documentation efforts into the future. You will be at the forefront of establishing a robust framework for technical documentation at Pebble, setting the stage for streamlined operations, enhanced training, and efficient service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and publishing owner’s information
- Updating the owner’s guide
- Maintaining warranty information
- Managing the legally mandated printed matter through the approval and printing process
- Developing Service Documentation:
- Creating service and maintenance manuals.
- Creating part manuals and training Guides
- Compiling connector reference materials
- Developing wiring diagrams
- Creating body repair instructions
- Documenting manufacturing processes
- Creating diagnostic documentation
- Managing relationships with third parties
Qualifications:
- Experience in the automotive industry, particularly in technical writing roles
- Self driven with the ability to manage priorities, objectives, content, and colleagues to ensure documents are published in a timely manner at the highest quality.
- Proficiency in creating various types of technical documentation, such as manuals, guides, diagrams, and instructions
- Familiarity with service, manufacturing, and diagnostic processes within the automotive sector
- Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively manage relationships with third parties and collaborate with internal teams
- Ability to work independently and proactively define and improve documentation processes.
- Experience with XML-based content reuse tools
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
