Volunteer Coding Instructor (2 hours per week)
Role:
- Lead exciting, beginner-friendly coding sessions that introduce students to programming fundamentals.
- Teach kids how to create their own games, animations, apps, or websites using platforms like Scratch, Tynker, Python, or other beginner tools.
- Break down big concepts (like loops and variables) into bite-sized fun activities that actually make sense.
- Build confidence in students as they tackle coding challenges, debug like pros, and bring their creative tech ideas to life.
- Encourage teamwork, exploration, and curiosity in a safe and inclusive virtual space.
- Collaborate with families to ensure students are set up for success with the right tools and support.
- Help students showcase their work in a final project or coding showcase they’ll be proud of!
Qualifications:
- Experience with coding/programming and a passion for tech education.
- Familiarity with beginner-friendly tools like Scratch, Blockly, Python, or other age-appropriate coding platforms.
- A love for teaching and empowering kids to build cool things with code!
- Virtual classroom comfort: Google Meet, Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.
Patience, a good sense of humor, and a passion for problem-solving!
