Transportation Information Systems Consultant - Kanawha County
The Transportation Information Systems Consultant will report to the Special Projects Section of the Information Technology Division. This position, under general supervision, performs full-performance level work researching hardware/software capabilities and compatibility with user computer environment on various platforms. Outlines the scope of the project for the user agency. Writes and reviews major procurement documents to enable agencies to purchase hardware/software. Assists with long-range information system plans. Works as a project member on large projects or s a project leader on projects of medium complexity. Complexity involves complex, broad, and extensive problems that may involve both information technology software and hardware environments. Performs related work as required.
Minimum Requirements
REQUIRED TRAINING/EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in information technology or a related field.
- Substitution: Experience, as described below, may be substituted for the required training/education through an established formula.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in computer sales, computer consulting, or in a position utilizing information technology writing or research skills.
- Substitution: Successful completion of graduate coursework from a regionally accredited college or university in information technology or a related field may be substituted for the required experience through an established formula.
