Position Summary:
The CSA Social Impact Fellowship is a competitive, high-impact internship experience for students and early-career professionals seeking to build real-world skills in social impact, leadership, and nonprofit strategy.
Fellows in the Human Resources Track will support CSA’s people operations and talent strategy by contributing to recruitment, onboarding, culture-building, and team experience. Interns rotate through a unique rhythm of 1 week of learning followed by 1 week of experience, continuing this cycle throughout the program. This model allows Fellows to build skills and immediately apply them in a real-world, mission-driven context.
This is a hands-on, virtual internship designed for emerging HR professionals who want to make a difference through inclusive and people-centered practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the onboarding and engagement of new interns, volunteers, and team members
- Assist in developing internal HR policies, checklists, and communications
- Help document and improve team workflows and onboarding systems
- Research best practices in nonprofit HR and help implement them
- Track intern participation, feedback, and engagement data
- Complete assigned learning modules and reflection tasks as part of the fellowship cycle
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in human resources, organizational development, or people operations
- Strong communication, detail orientation, and follow-through
- Ability to work with confidentiality and professionalism
- Comfortable using platforms like Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, or HR software
- Deep alignment with CSA’s mission and team values
Commitment:
- Estimated commitment: 6–8 hours per week (virtual, flexible)
- 1-week learning / 1-week experience cycle throughout the term
- Participation in weekly virtual check-ins and project updates
